GatewayRail provides inter-modal logistics and operates its own Inland Container Depots/Dry Ports. GatewayRail Freight Ltd. kicked off its rail operations in June 2007 by operating its first Container carrying train from ICD Gurgaon.

GatewayRail is a subsidiary of Gateway Distriparks Ltd. (NSE/BSE: GDL), which operates port side CFS at Nhava Sheva, Chennai and Visakhapatnam. With an operating capacity of 450,000 TEUs per annum, GDL also provides Cold Chain Logistics Solutions via a pan-India network through its JV with Mitsubishi and IFC World Bank – Snowman Logistics Ltd. In 2010, The Blackstone Group of USA made a private equity investment in GatewayRail.

GatewayRail operates rail linked facilities at: GatewayRail owns and operates a fleet of 21 trains, 235 road-trailers and 10 reach-stackers at its rail linked terminals. We operate regular container train service from these ICDs/Dry Ports to the maritime ports at Nhava Sheva (J N Port), Mundra (MICT and MPSEZ) and Pipavav (GPPL), transporting import and export containers.

All major shipping lines operate from these GatewayRail terminals for both export and import.
